Versatile trail Runner (from30k to ultra distances), fan of technical terrain

Focus on Antoine :

Antoine THIRIAT is a French trail runner from the Vosges region. Born in 2000, he first competed in windsurfing at a high level before discovering mountain running in 2020, during the COVID pandemic. He quickly stood out for his climbing ability, speed, and capacity to adapt to highly technical terrain. Still relatively new to the world of trail running, he has been making steady progress over the past few years, which now sees him competing against the best over distances ranging from 50 km to ultra-trail races.

Antoine particularly made his mark in the U23 category. In 2021, he became French U23 Long Trail Champion, before finishing as runner-up in the French U23 Long Trail Championship in 2022. That same year, he notably won the Tour des Fiz and finished 7th in the OCC, one of the benchmark races on the UTMB circuit. His early career already demonstrates remarkable consistency and an ability to perform on demanding mountain courses.

In 2023, he confirmed his potential, notably finishing 2nd at the Trail des Aiguilles Rouges, 4th at the Restonica Trail, and 8th at the Marathon Race du Lac d’Annecy. In 2024, he took another step forward by winning the 6000D, covering 68.7 km with 3,468 m of elevation gain in 5 h 54 min, before finishing 9th at the Transvulcania. He also took part in his first CCC, completing the race in 12 h 16 min.

What truly sets Antoine apart is his versatility. Capable of moving fast over shorter, mountainous distances while also going the distance in ultras of more than 100 kilometres, he is gradually shaping his identity as a runner around the pursuit of performance, without limiting himself to a single type of race. His curiosity and desire to discover new terrain are an integral part of his approach to trail running.

Still at the beginning of his senior career, Antoine represents a new generation of French trail runners capable of quickly progressing from the U23 circuit to the highest level of international competition. His progression is built on consistency, versatility, and a desire to take on the most demanding race formats, with one clear goal: to keep pushing his limits while exploring new terrain.
