Iris Pessey is a 34-year-old French trail runner and skyrunner from Le Grand-Bornand, in Haute-Savoie. Coming from a sporty family, she first started with cross-country skiing before gradually turning to trail running and skyrunning. Her journey is defined by a very free approach to performance: for her, enjoyment, self-improvement, and life balance matter more than titles.

Alongside her athletic career, Iris is also the coach of the Great Britain biathlon team on the World Cup circuit, a responsibility that took her to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. And this year, in addition to her coaching work, she is also setting herself highly ambitious personal goals in trail running, proof of an athlete capable of balancing elite-level sport, professional demands, and personal challenges all at once.

  • Winner of the MCC in 2024 and 3rd place in 2025

  • 3rd in the Skyrunning World Cup for two consecutive years

  • Best climber in the Golden Trail Series for three consecutive years

  • Several Top 10 finishes on the international circuit in 50K trail formats

  • Bronze medalist at the 2020 Skyrunning World Championships in the vertical kilometer.

  • Holder of the round-trip record to Pointe Percée (3h36 in 2024)
